Week 1: Introductions and Prevalent Storyboard

BLOG QUESTIONS:
» What are your first impressions?
» Describe your work environment. How is the space organized? Where do you fit in within the organization’s structure?

The staff was clearly friendly and everyone was friends as well as coworkers. The office is in a barn in Basking Ridge,

New Jersey where everyone has their own cubicle while the CEO, Robert Quincey and Andrea Quincey have

separate offices. I am working online so I was in my own dining room in North Carolina but still participated

via zoom.

5/23/ 2022: MONDAY (first day!)

9:30-11:15: team meeting

11:30-11:50: rob intro meeting

12:00-12:50: google analytics planning and journal entry

1:00-2:00: prevalent video meeting with jerry

Today to start I joined their team meeting to go over introductions as well as their clients and status

on progress. I got to learn about many of the different companies they work with and have even been

given the opportunity to do some video work with their designer Jerry. We are going to be working for

Prevalent (a third party vendor risk management company) and doing some video work for a new

website.

Had a meeting with Jerry and Rob where they showed me the style of the video animation I will be

doing and then showed me their process in which they achieved it. It taught me that there is a lot more

teamwork needed to build the foundation. Then my guidelines for what I will be doing which is starting

the animation with the first two sentences of the video for tomorrow.

Made a google skillshop account so that I can get my certifications.

To Do:

5/24/ 2022: TUESDAY

8:30- 10:30 rob meeting and client study/ thumbnails

11:00- 2:00 independent work with check ups

Today was much more independent compared to all the meetings I had attended yesterday.

After my meeting with Rob and Jerry, I had a pretty clear idea of what was expected of me. It was nice

that I had just taken motion graphics this past semester so making this animation storyboard wasn't too

intimidating. I started off with some client research watching this past videos to gain a sense of style

before collecting resource images. However, I did have an issue when trying to open Illustrator because

my school had kicked me off the Adobe suite and I had no access to the apps. I had to get it resolved

with the school but it wouldn't let me work on it till the next day. Luckily Rob allowed me to use his

account for the day and I was then able to get started.

I followed the notes I had taken during the meeting to create some storyboard panels that I felt

matched the theme and had a couple in progress meetings with Jerry to make sure I was on the right

track and they approved of my vision.

HIGHLIGHTS: I was really excited to meet the team and they were surprising very warm.

PROBLEMS: I did not enjoy looking over the skill share list for google analytics as it would take more than 8 hours to complete.

ISSUES: THE INABILITY TO USE THE CREATIVE CLOUD

Here are the notes I scribbled down as well as the thumbnails I made before attempting the digital

version.
